Sometimes some of the best paintings come about with no plan at all...this was one of those along with the deer panel.
If you watch my process you will know that I usually start with a 'chaos' layer of paint, actually more likely to be 3 layers of paint but the point of the chaos is that unplanned things happen which you then incorporate into the painting. The only thing I really planned was the face of the owl because they have really weird faces, have you ever noticed that before?
